The Applied Modelling and Computation Group (AMCG)
AMCG is committed to both the development and application of innovative modelling techniques in earth, nuclear, engineering and biomedical sciences. The group has core research interests in the development and application of numerical methods for neutral particle radiation transport, for atmospheric, ocean and multiphase flows, for optimisation mathematics and its applications, and for the solution of inverse (imaging/tomographic) problems. Two general purpose finite element codes developed by the group, EVENT and Fluidity, provide the numerical framework for research and applications, together with specialised codes such as the coupled code FETCH for nuclear safety research and ICOM (Imperial College Ocean Model) for multi-scale ocean modelling.
